To facilitate and enhance the four language learning skills – listening, speaking, reading and writing, Kendriya Vidyalaya, NFR, Maligaon has a Digital Language Lab in which students develop their language skills efficiently. The main objective is to take learning beyond the boundaries and limits of classroom teachinglearning. The lab is well equipped with electronic sound-reproducing equipment, which enables students to enhance their knowledge of the language by engaging in pattern exercises as well as access to hear model pronunciations of different languages. It includes audio-visual aids such as headphones, microphones, overhead-projectors and computer systems to assist each student. The lab efficiently builds communication skills among students as several recreationalactivities are also conducted with the help of various tools readily available for the teaching-learning process. Various aspects of language learning such as fluency, vocabulary, speech, etc. are improved with the teaching aids. It allows students to practice the language with a wide variety of computer-based activities and exercises. Learning takes place in a structured way, in a real context and in an engaging way that immerses the student in the language learning environment and promotes language use.
